Why we give this away
Because most people who write to us do not need a mix yet — they need to know what is actually wrong. Selling a $133 mix to somebody whose real problem is a kick and an 808 fighting over the same note is how a studio gets a refund request and a bad review.
And because we would rather be the people who told you the truth for free. If the answer is “fix these two things yourself and the track is done”, you will remember that the next time you have something you genuinely cannot fix alone.
Who this is for
You have a mix. You have listened to it two hundred times. It sounds fine in your headphones and wrong in the car, and you can no longer tell which part of it is the problem — the arrangement, the low end, the vocal chain, or your room.
That is not a mixing problem yet. That is a diagnosis problem, and it is the single most common message that reaches us: “the vocals are way too quiet”, “then I played it in my car”, “I know nothing about mixing and mastering”. Paying for a full mix before you know what is actually wrong is how people spend money twice.
What you get back
- A verdict, in plain language. What is working, what is not, and which of the two or three real problems to fix first. Ranked, not listed.
- The moments that prove it. The specific places in your song where each problem is audible, so you can hear what the engineer heard.
- What to do about it. Concrete moves — the frequency ranges, the arrangement decisions, the gain staging. Written so you can act on it in your own session.
- An honest answer on whether you need us at all. Sometimes you do not. We will say so.

A machine can tell you your track is 3 LUFS quieter than the reference. It cannot tell you that the reason is a snare fighting the vocal in the same band, and it certainly cannot tell you which one should win.
